What To Do With Failure.

So I had self-imposed a deadline of February 28th to have Tinevimbo officially registered as a non-profit, and as the date that we would have our website up.

Why did I want everything done so soon? Well, several friends/benefactors have ALREADY expressed interest in donating to the cause…and it’s only possible to start receiving donations and making solid plans once we have all our documents in order.

Well, it’s February 28th.

We are still at least a week away from being registered, and possibly a couple weeks away from having our website out.

So what now?

We’ve gone through many interesting things this past month as a new organization. I’ve met with our “board of directors” (those of us founding the non-profit) twice, and we’ve shifted around our team quite a bit.

Right now, the picture is still fuzzy, but I wanted to write this blog to let you know – WE’RE STILL MAKING PROGRESS!

Instead of focusing on how we’ve failed to meet our deadline, I want to inform you on what positive things have happened this last month:

-We’ve gotten graphic designers! 🙂

-We’ve (almost) completed our documents that we need to register

-We’ve also (almost) completed a timeline of the project, which you can look forward to in the next week.

So no, we didn’t reach this deadline. But hey, we are still moving forward.

What do you do with failure? You keep moving forward!

For those interested in possibly getting involved or helping, please feel to e-mail me at vimbovivien@gmail.com 🙂

Keep. Moving. Forward.

“Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.” Philippians 4:6 (AMP)

Personally, I’ve been pretty busy lately. I’m a full-time student teacher to twenty-six 2nd graders. I try to carve out at least an hour each day to workout because I’m training for 10K this April. And since it’s my last semester of college, I’m really trying to make the most of the last few months I have left here with my friends.

All of that is to say, anxiety has been a close companion of mine lately. As I type, I’m still in the process of submitting Tine Vimbo’s articles of incorporation, so that we can become an official non-profit.

Yet, there is so much good news about Tine Vimbo and where God is taking us! Progress is slow, but we are moving forward.

And we are still on track to launch our website by the end of February.

God has been coming through in such major ways for us already!

First, God has blessed Tine Vimbo with the (wo)man power that we need to get things moving. I have learned the power of delegating tasks, and things are moving forward without me micro-managing everything.

By “us” I mean the three of us that make up the board of directors, as well as our two researchers who are doing the in-depth investigation we need to make our operation as legit as possible. I’ll tell you more about our team in a post soon!

Second, God has been moving several individuals to offer some (otherwise expensive) services and capital to us at no cost! This is as far as PR, design, and even materials to take with us.

We’ve actually had to slow some things down, because we want to be legitimate before we start taking people’s money and resources! God’s been answering prayers before I’ve even had the chance to ask for them, which just shows me that I have nothing to worry about.

The thing is, the more things like this keep happening, the more I see God clearly working. If God has put a dream in your heart, and you don’t see things happening right away, please, don’t give up. When life is moving too fast, too slow, or both fast and slow at the same time (as it seems to be for me!), hold on. Be encouraged. Tine Vimbo is already proof that God is able.

True to our name, tine vimbo. We’ve got hope. Our fortitude is unwavering.

Progress may be slow, but have no doubt, our Tine Vimbo team is still moving forward.
